Introducing, Me!

Again, I sincerely want to thank you for coming to my website, and especially if you're reading about me! You clearly know I am a photographer, which, while an important aspect of my personality, is only one aspect. So, here is a brief history of everything you never wanted to know about me!

As I get older, I keep finding more and more things that fascinate me. A lot of my interests come directly from my family - my parents, my sister, my grandparents. My parents surrounded me with great music growing up, which has instilled a deep appreciation for all (most) types of music. They even took me to a Kinks concert when I was 5, and while I can only remember the sheer pain of the pounding bass in my ears (it was outside, and we must have been nearly a mile from the stage!), I hope to be that cool when I have kids.

My mother has passed down her love of antiques, crafts, interior design, artsy fartsy aesthetic, and showed me that family is there to share things with, not hide things from. My father has taught me to be patient, with early morning fishing trips, and drilled into my head one of the most important & difficult habits to master in life: Make good use of your time. My sister is forever helping me learn to dress myself. She always manages to help me learn from my mistakes, in only the way a sister can (even if it IS an insult, I know it is a loving insult).

All of my grandparents have been heroes to me. None more so than my grandfather, who received a Purple Heart after being a POW in WWII. While I will never know what he went through, I know he got through it, which means he never gave up. If he had, there are many people who would never have existed (like me!). My grandmother is a hero in her own right, who lived through the difficult years my grandfather was a POW, at one point even having a funeral for him as a result of years of him being MIA.

I could bore you with many more details of my family, but these are the members who are still alive and influence my life everyday. They have been more supportive in my journey as a photographer than I could have hoped for, and it is because of them I keep on keepin' on with this dream.

On a lighter note, some random things you may or may not know:

I collect buttons & bottlecaps.
I love rolling coins.
I can nurse a cup of coffee all day.
One day I will be a fabulous seamstress (once I conquer my fear of the sewing machine).
I try and watch Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy everyday.
I have an amazing boyfriend who continues to amaze me more each day.
